Edwards Wildman's London office left without management

October 29, 2014 The London office of Edwards Wildman Palmer is temporarily being managed by Walter Reed, who led the firm from 2008 to 2012 and is located in the United States. London head Nick Bolter's apparent ambitions to depart Edwards Wildman for Cooley reportedly led to concerns and the switch in management.

Cooley is reportedly pursuing a team from Edwards Wildman but waiting results of a pending vote at Edwards Wildman over an intended merger with US firm Locke Lord before finalizing its offers.

A slew of defections over the past six months have left the London office depleted and seem to corroborate reports that the office has been having problems internally since June.

Among notable departures were:

Stuart Blythe to CMS Cameron McKenna
Niall McAllister to Olswang
Shawn Atkinson to Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe
former practice head David Ramm to Morgan Lewis
corporate partner Eero Rautalahti, destination unknown.
IP partner Ben Goodger to Osborne Clarke
