Clifford Chance hires team from Bingham McCutchen
Clifford Chance has recruited a team of five lawyers to its finance practice. The lawyers come from Bingham McCutchen, reeling after many of its members were recently absorbed by Morgan Lewis & Bockius. The team is headlined by partners Robert Gross and William Cejudo.
Gross will join the corporate practice at Clifford. His experience includes advising investment banks, hedge funds, issuers, sellers and investors on structured and asset-based financings. Cejudo will join the tax, pensions and employment team. He mostly focuses on the tax aspects of structured finance transactions. That could include distressed asset funds, residential and commercial mortgage-backed securitisations, asset-backed securitisations, debt re-packaging, catastrophe bonds, and credit-default swaps.
The team will join Clifford's Washington, D.C. office. With the addition, Clifford Chance now has 69 partners in the United States.
