BLP elects Lisa Mayhew as managing partner
Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) partners voted to elect Lisa Mayhew, head of employment, as the the firm's new managing partner. Mayhew will begin her term on 1 May. The election is the first contested election at BLP in 16 years.
Current managing partner Neville Eisenberg had announced he would not stand for re-election. He is expected to try to fill the vacating senior partner role, when Harold Paisner ends his term later this year.
Mayhew was head of employment for just 12 months, but as been with BLP since 2010. She was previously at Jones Day and priort to that at Hogan Lovells for eight years. She was elected to BLP's board two years ago.
Mayhew stood against BLP head of corporate David Collins. It is believed that the two candidates had fairly even support throughout the firm.
