DLA enters Canada through merger with local firm

March 2, 2015 It was four years ago that DLA Piper remarked on its pursuit of a merger in Canada. And it was just one year ago that the firm pulled out of talks with some lawyers from the defunct Heenan Blaikie.

So it has been a long road traveled to a new agreement to merge with local firm Davis. Davis has over 250 lawyers working in offices located in Vancouver, Montréal, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, as well as Whitehorse and Yellowknife. The firm also has a base in Tokyo.

DLA is only relatively late to the Canada party. Norton Rose Fulbright entereed first in 2011, followed by Clyde & Co and then SNR Denton in 2012.
