Baker Botts opens Palo Alto office

Seeking to boost its intellectual property practice, Houston law firm Baker Botts LLP has opened a new office in Silicon Valley. Baker Botts has 800 lawyers in 12 offices in the United States, China, the Middle East, Russia and Europe. The firm's opening comes as another out-of-state firm plans to pull out of the valley. Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC said it will close its Redwood Shores office June 30.
