Baker & McKenzie first joint operation in China

April 17, 2015 Baker & McKenzie, which became the first international firm licensed to practice law in China in 1993, has 22 years years later been granted the first Chinese joint operation license with local firm FenXun Partners. The firms announced they were granted a license in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone by the Shanghai Bureau of Justice.

The joint operation license opens the doors for international clients to access PRC law seamlessly. In addition to that, clients of FenXun Partners will have access to legal services across Baker & McKenzie's offices around the world, which total 77. The partners at FenXun will be integrated into Baker & McKenzie's network.

FenXun Partners opened its doors in 2009 and has five partners.
