Baker & McKenzie hire EY tax head
Baker & McKenzie has hired Ernst and Young (EY) tax head of market Kate Alexander as a principal tax advisor in its corporate practice in London. Alexander has been at EY more than 10 years and acted there also as head of UK patent box. Specifically in that role, she worked together with HM Treasury on the logistics of the UK Patent Box, which allows companies to realize a lower corporate tax rate for profits after 1 April 2013 on its own patented inventions.
Baker & McKenzie has hired from the big accountancy firms before. Stephan Georg Behnes joined from KPMG last year. The firm also brought on Ola Nicolai Borge, formerly managing partner at Grant Thornton Myanmar, joined just over a month ago.
