Dentons eyeing third merger this year
Dentons appears to be eyeing a third merger this year, holding talks with Matthew Arnold & Baldwin (MAB), headquartered in London. Dentons merged twice earlier this year, first with Chinese firm Dacheng and then with McKenna Long & Aldridge.
After those mergers were completed, it was revealed that Dentons had entered into 21 non-disclosure agreements around the world, with aims to evaluate potential mergers.
MAB has 80 lawyers and its revenues dove 13.6 percent in 2014-15. It's profits also dropped, from £5m to £3.3m. The 2012-13 fiscal year was a standout year for the firm, with revenues of £19.3m.
It may be that the firms announced their talks internally last week. It is not known if Dentons plans to absorb the entire firm or only a piece of it.
