Foot Anstey pilots "warm-desking"
South West firm Foot Anstey is testing a new "warm-desk" policy in its Bristol office, as part of a long term preparation for further flexible working conditions. The pilot, which has already started, is scheduled to run for 12 months.comments powered by Disqus
A "warm-desk" is similar to the model of a "hot-desk," which implies that it is unassigned to a specific staff member. However, it is not as fully flexible as a hot-desk, providing at least a modicum of permanent facilities for the individuals that use it.
The firm perceives a need for space as well as a need to adopt more flexible working practices as it attempts to maximize the utility of its fixed costs, or otherwise limit their extent.
