Bryan Cave hires Macfarlanes head
Bryan Cave, pursuing an ambition to form three top-ranked international practices, has hired Rachel Kelly, the structured finance and capital markets chief from Macfarlanes, to help build its financial services offering in London.
Kelly has been in her role at Macfarlanes for four years, when she joined to help establish the firm's structured finance practice. She arrived then from Clifford Chance, where she had been previously for 14 years as part of their structured debt group.
The firm expects to bring on additional talent at the associate and counsel levels to support Kelly.
Bryan Cave only had around 38 lawyers in London in 2014. The change in headcount the past five years was a meager 12 percent. The firm, based in the US, is making a strategic shift towards growth and hopes to build on its core practice strengths.
