Another Linklaters Asia partner departs
Linklaters is losing another partner from the Asia region, the most recent in a string of departures from the firm in the region. Debt finance partner David Irvine will be joining Kirkland & Ellis's Hong Kong office.
Several other firms have plucked partners from Linklaters this year in the region. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer hired US securities partner David Ludwick, who was based in Hong Kong, and also energy partner Thomas Ng, who was based in Beijing. Peggy Wang, private equity partner, departed the Hong Kong office for White White & Case. Finance partner Jon Gray, who was based in Hong Kong, joined Davis Polk & Wardwell in Tokyo and energy partner James Douglass, who was based in Beijing, moved to London to join King & Wood Mallesons.
Irvine is expected to enhance Kirkland's debt finanace practice in Hong Kong.
