Arnold & Porter announces new chairman
Arnold & Porter has announced that its managing partner, Richard Alexander, will step into the role of chairman at the beginning of next year, replacing the outgoing chairman Tom Milch.
Milch has been chairman at the firm for nine years. He will remain at the firm as a partner, but bylaws of the firm prevent persons over the age of 65 from serving in management roles. Milch assumed the role as chairman in 2006 after Michael Sohn stepped down.
Alexander has been managing partner at the firm since 2005. Litigation partner Anne Davis and environmental partner Michael Daneker will take up roles as co-managing partners at the end of this year. Davis has been a partner since 2007 and Daneker since 2000.
The firm operates nine offices worldwide.
