Littler Mendelson acquires German boutique
Littler Mendelson, a US employment giant, has entered Europe through the acquisition of German employment boutique Vanguard. The firm's international arm, known as Littler Global, will absorb Vanguard's four offices in Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Munich.
Vanguard consists of 21 lawyers, who advise start-ups and international corporates on employment law matters.
The firms were in talks for almost a year before details of the acquisition were announced. Littler Global hopes to use the acquisition as a starting point with the aim to grow Littler Global's presence in Europe.
Vanguard will continue to use its brand, but will incorporate the Littler logo on its materials.
