BLP Singapore managing partner leaves firm
Berwin Leighton Paisner has lost two of its partners in Singapore, including office managing partner Alistair Duffield. Finance partner Tahirah Ara is also parting ways with the firm.
Duffield and Ara arrived together as part of a six-lawyer team that joined the firm from Holman Fenwick & Willan in 2010. Duffield is apparently considering various opportunities at the moment. So far, BLP is not actively seeking a new managing partner for the office there. The firm's leader for its Asia practice is Bob Charlton, who is also managing partner in the firm's Hong Kong office.
Ara, meanwhile, is set to join Withers next week. Two associates from BLP will join her later on. With the hires, Withers is seeking to enhance its corporate and finance capabilities in the area. It also made an alliance with Singapore firm KhattarWong in April.
