Macfarlanes returns to Ashurst to boost real estate team
Macfarlanes has been focusing on growing its real estate team and has acquired a bevy of talent from Ashurst. It's latest hire continued that trend, as the firm hired Ashurst partner Gerald Kelly. Kelly has been a partner in the real estate group at Ashurst since 2001. His practice is focused around structured equity, corporate occupier requirements and property developments.
Macfarlanes has a history of drawing from talent formerly working at Ashurst. Two years ago the firm added commercial real estate partner Anthony Burnett-Scott and former construction head Ann Minogue in the span of just a few months. In 2011, Macfarlanes added partner Ian Nisse as its head of commercial real estate. Nisse, prior to a stint at Shearman & Sterling, was managing partner at Ashurst.
