French firm launches in Eastern Europe with Gide hires
Jeantet Associés is hiring teams from fellow international French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel in order to launch offices in Budapest and Kiev. From Gide’s Ukraine team, local partner Bertrand Barrier will run the new Kiev office. Paris-based partner Karl Hepp de Sevelinges also joins the French firm. Jeantet will also claim Gide’s Budapest head François d’Ornano in the shuffle. Jeantet expects 30 lawyers to eventually join its team.
Gide has downsized its Eastern European presence in the recent past as well. Five years ago, the firm conducted a review of its operations. In the wake of that review, the firm closed three offices in the Middle East as well as its Belgrade and Prague offices.
Gide still has offices in Poland, Russia and Turkey.
