Gowlings CEO stepping down before merger
Gowlings, CEO Scott Joliffe, will step down from his role as chair and CEO of the firm before its pending merger with Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co finalizes in January. The newly merged firm will be named Gowling WLG.
Joliffe led the firm for 20 years. He will continue to work in the firm's litigation practice and will take up one of three places as representative on Gowling WLG's global board. Gowlings' external managing partner Peter Lukasiewicz will succeed Joliffe in the newly merged firm in January.
The merged firm will be an international firm that generates more £400m of revenue each year. The firm's combined offices will number 18, spread throughout Canada, UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
