Wragge chairman re-elected ahead of merger
Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co have re-elected their chariman Andrew Witts. The election comes two months before the firm's planned merger with Canadian firm Gowlings.
Witts was chairman of legacy firm Lawrence Graham before its merger with Wragge & Co in 2014. He remained in his post after the merger with a two-year term. Witts stood for election against one other candidate and was elected to a four year term. His term is scheduled to begin next May, which will be months after the pending merger forms Gowling WLG.
Recently, Gowlings CEO Scott Joliffe announced he will step down from his role before the merger and will be replaced by co-managing partner Peter Lukasiewicz. Joliffe led Gowlings for 20 years and will remain with the firm and sit as one of three Gowlings representatives on the merged firm's global board.
The merger is scheduled to take effect on 18 January 2016.
