Allen & Overy expanding Peerpoint to Asia
Allen & Overy is extending what proved to be a successful contract lawyer service in London to the Asia Pacific Region, responding to high client demand for the service. Known as Peerpoint, the contract lawyer service has grown to 100 consultants one year after the project's client service arm launched. Those consultants have worked with ten of A&O's key banking clients.
A&O has appointed Tony Corcoran, himself an alumnus of the firm, to the role of managing director for Peerpoint in Asia Pacific. He will be based in Sydney. He has vast in-house experience in the region, having held senior roles at Lend Lease and Macquarie Group in Sydney as well as ABN AMRO and RBS in Hong Kong.
The initial task of the Asia Pacific division of Peerpoint will be to recruit lawyers to its panel and pursue client business development. Unfulfilled client demand was cited as the driving force to expand the service into the region.
