Three partners retire from Linklaters Asia
Linklaters, who all began with the firm in London but quickly based themselves in Asia, are set to retire. In Hong Kong, capital markets partner Jeremy Webb and corporate partner Christopher Kelly as well as capital markets partner Dean Lockhart out of Singapore are all set to retire after more than 20 years at Linklaters.
Webb has indicated he will return to live in West Country while Lockhart plans to return to Scotland. Kelly will pursue further opportunities in Hong Kong.
As of late, the firm has seen a number of partners departing for one reason or another, making these retirements all the more felt at the firm. In Hong Kong alone last year, six partners based there regionally moved to other firms. The firm acknowledges the strict measures of its performance management erode a bond between partners at the firm.
A global promotions round is approaching in April and a number of partners are expected to be made up in the region at that time.
