Orrick boosts Houston office two weeks after launch

February 17, 2016 Two weeks after launching a new office in Houston, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has recruited seven more partners to join the firm, who come to the firm from Morgan Lewis & Bockius and McGuireWoods.

Five partners come directly or formerly from Morgan Lewis & Bockius, including the former co-chair of Morgan Lewis’ Latin American team, Carlos Treistman. Treistman, who will co-chair the Latin America practice at Orrick, is a corporate partner and is joined by fellow partners Rodrigo Dominguez and Bill Parish, who are focused in the energy sector. Two former Morgan Lewis partners are also joining as partners, Jonathan Ayre and Joe Roger, who cover transactions of oil and gas assets.

Two McGuireWoods partners are making the jump to Orrick. One is David Ronn, who was co-leader of McGuireWoods’ oil and gas team and will additionally serve as the office’s hiring partner at Orrick. Joining Ronn is tax partner Barbara de Marigny.

Several firms have lost partners to the new office, including DLA Piper, McDermott Will & Emery and Andrew Kurth.
