Eversheds exploring merger with Singapore firm
Eversheds is reportedly looking to expand its offering in Singapore through a merger. The firm has opened talks with locally-based Harry Elias.
Harry Elias has 56 fee-earners to its name, a stark contrast to the team of eight that Eversheds currently has posted in the region. The firm deals mainly in corporate, cross border and construction matters. Eversheds launched its Singapore presence in 2009, hiring DLA Piper's former Singapore managing director Desmond Ong and bringing on six lawyers to create its team.
Eversheds also rolled out its consulting business, known as Eversheds Agile, in Hong Kong and Singapore. The business has made a pool of 20 to 30 lawyers available in the region.
