More leadership changes announced at A&O

March 26, 2016 More news of new leadership came out of Allen & Overy, following the previous announcement that London corporate head Richard Browne will become global co-head of the firm's corporate practice. Philip Bowden and Andrew Thomas have been elected as the firm's new global co-heads of banking.

Bowden joined Allen & Overy in 1999 and has been a partner with the firm for 14 years. He has served as global co-head of the leveraged finance practice since 2014. His speciality is corporate and financial sponsor leveraged acquisition financings. He also is experienced in structured finance and investment grade event driven acquisition financings.

Thomas arrived at the firm in 2001 and took on the role of managing partner at the firm's Amsterdam office in 2009. His specialty is cross-border leveraged finance, debt restructuring, syndicated corporate lending and acquisition finance.

The pair will take over for current global banking co-heads Stephen Kensell and Andrew Trahair, who both reportedly preferred to step down after completing their second four-year term at the end of next month. Trahair and Kensell will return to practicing full-time.
