Second international law firm opens its doors in Iran

April 22, 2016 Kazakhstan-based law firm Colibri has become the second international law firm to open its doors in Iran, following CMS opening a Tehran branch shortly after the US lifted its longstanding sanctions against Iran last year.
Colibri was already in the final stages of negotiation to open its branch in Tehran when the US signed the sanction-lifting Iran Deal in July 2015. The firm's new office will specialize in contractual agreements, trade and regulatory issues; traditional corporate legal issues; and other companies' investment strategies in Iran. The firm will be run by a mixture of Iranian and Kazakhstani lawyers.
