Herbert Smith Freehills eyes China and US in longterm plan
Herbert Smith Freehills is eyeing expansion into US and China, according to its Beyond 2020 longterm vision plan.
According to the plan, the firm will investigate obtaining the right to practice law in China, and would also consider a merger with an American firm to bring credibility in the states, although there are currently no specific mergers planned. As of now, the firm has an office in New York.
The strategy also outlines nine sectors for the firm to focus on in the next four years: energy, financial institutions, real estate, infrastructure, financial buyers, TMT, mining, consumer products and pharma.
