Scottish firm re-enters Aberdeen market
Shepherd and Wedderburn is going against the grain and opening an office in Aberdeen, just as most firms had written the area off. To assist in the process, the firm has hired Pinsent Masons's John Rutherford as a consultant.
Rutherford is corporate finance oil and gas specialist. He spent three years as a partner at Pinsent Masons. Before his time at his previous firm, Rutherford was a head of corporate at legacy firm McGrigors.
Shepherd and Wedderburn thinks the time is right to re-enter the challenging market. The firm plans to expand the scope of the office to include the private client and rural market in the North East.
The firm previously ran an office in Aberdeen as well, from the mid-2000's until 2011, when it was closed as the firm moved to a service offering.
