DLA Piper halts Indonesia alliance
DLA Piper has announced plans to end its 3-year alliance with Indonesian firm Ivan Almaida Baely & Firmansyah (IAB&F). Despite terminating the formal relationship, DLA will continue to work with Indonesian firms, including IAB&F, as Indonesian bar rules prohibit international firms from working directly in the country. The firm’s work in Indonesia covers a broad range of practice areas and clients, including financial institutions, local and international companies, and government organizations. Squire Patton Boggs also recently ended its alliance with Indonesian firm Melli Darsa & Co, although several other international firms continue to operate in the country through formal alliances.
