Addleshaws to merge with HBJ Gateley

Addleshaw Goddard and HBJ Gateley have announced an upcoming merger, after the combination was approved through a vote by the firms’ partners. The new combined firm will include more than 230 partners and 1,100 lawyers, with a fee income of £224m. Addleshaws will retain its current management, and HBJ Gateley chairman Malcolm McPherson will join the board. Additional HBJ Gateley partners will join Addleshaws as members of each division’s executive teams. The merger is set to go live on 1 June 2017.
