Latham hires energy co-head John Baldson of HSF

Latham & Watkins has hired John Baldson of Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF). While at HSF, Baldson served as co-head of the firm’s global energy practice, and previously worked at Clifford Chance before joining HSF as a partner in 2002. Baldson joins the finance team at Latham’s London office. Latham executive committee vice-chair David Gordon said the move will help establish Latham as a leading global energy and power firm. Baldson’s hire is the latest in a Latham hiring spree in London, where the firm has recently hired talent from firms including Ashurst, Slaughter and May, and Allen & Overy.
