Baker & McKenzie to drop ampersand in name update

December 20, 2016 As part of a global brand update, Baker & McKenzie has made a decision to drop the ampersand in its name, changing the name to Baker McKenzie. The branding initiative also includes a logo update, and will likely result in updates to the firm’s website, stationery, and signage.

According to Acritas, Baker & McKenzie has held the strongest law firm brand for the past seven years. A firm spokesperson said the update is intended to strengthen the firm’s brand and create a confident, direct look. The firm has not yet confirmed whether it will change the name of its LLP in the UK.
