Lawyers on Demand turnover up 18% while director salaries increase
Lawyers on Demand (LOD) has released its financial results for the 2015/16 year, reporting an 18 per cent increase in turnover, with revenues rising from £12.3m to £14.6m. Operating profit fell from £987,000 to £200,000, a decrease that the firm attributed to new technology and other one-off expenditures. According to chief executive Tom Hartley, the firm invested heavily in the online legal marketplace Spoke. Salaries increased for the company’s directors, who earned as much as £495,000, an increase of 46 per cent over the previous year. Berwin Leighton Paisner, the parent company of LOD, reported a 2 per cent decrease in revenue and profitability in 2015/16.
