Clyde & Co fined by Solicitors’ tribunal

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has fined Clyde & Co for breaking rules pertaining to money laundering and accounting. The fines include £50,000 for the firm, along with £10,000 each for partners Christopher Duffy, Simon Gamblin and Nick Purnell. The partners acknowledged that they permitted use of a client’s bank account as a banking facility, which goes against SRA rules. Corporate insurance partner David Langley represented Clydes in the case, while Annelise Allen-Norris of Bevan Brittan represented the SRA.
