Garrigues Leads €4.2bn Spanish bank merger

Garrigues has taken the lead role on the €4.2bn merger of three Spanish savings banks. Caixa Catalunya, Caixa Tarragona and Caixa Manresa will merge to trade under the name Caixa Catalunya. Garrigues gave M&A and tax advice to the banks with a team led by M&A partner Ramon Girbau and antitrust partner Lluis Cases. Spanish firm Cuatrecasas advised the banks on labour law issues, with a team led partners Jordi Puigbo and Guillermo Garcia.
