Merger talks scrapped between Ward Hadaway and Weightmans

Weightmans and Ward Hadaway have called off merger talks after four months, scrapping plans that would have created a combined firm with turnover of approximately £130m. The firm cited differing strategies as the main reason for calling off talks. John Schorah, managing partner at Weightmans, said while the firms have common interests, they have differing goals for the future. Jamie Martin, head at Ward Hadaway, said the firm will continue to develop its locations in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.
