Winston & Strawn closes two Greater China offices

US firm Winston & Strawn has announced its decision to close offices in Taipei and Beijing, focusing its Greater China practice on remaining locations in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The Taipei office was opened in 2009, while the Beijing office was launched in 2014. According to a statement from the firm, the closures will allow Winston to bring more efficiency to its operations in the region and help it to better serve clients. Other firms with recent closures in Greater China include Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, which shuttered offices in Beijing and Hong Kong in 2016, and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, which closed its Hong Kong and Shanghai offices in 2015.
