Linklaters and Clifford Chance bump associate pay while Slaughters holds steady
As Magic Circle firms complete mid-year reviews of associate pay, some firms have increased salaries while others have maintained current pay rates. Linklaters has implemented a pay increase of £1,000 for newly-qualified (NQ) solicitors, which will now receive £82,000. With bonuses, NQs can now earn up to a total of £90,000. Slaughter and May will maintain current pay rates that the firm set during an increase in January, when NQ salaries increased to £78,000. Clifford Chance has implemented a slight increase to match inflation for junior lawyer salaries, which now stand at £85,000 before bonuses.
