Knowles spent 40 years at DLA Piper, having held various roles including CEO, chair and managing partner. He retired in 2016 after having led a number of expansion efforts that brought the firm to its current status as a global law firm. In his position as chairman, Knowles will work closely with managing partner Andrew Leaitherland.
