Freshfields overhauls partnership system
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has announced significant changes to its partnership structure in a move intended to help the firm remain competitive with US firms. The firm had previously followed a classic lockstep system, and will implement a new system consisting of three discretionary gates. The changes were approved via partner vote on 14 November. According to senior partner Edward Braham, the firm is positive about the new system, which will expand the firm’s core equity range to a spectrum between 10 and 60 points.
