Wilson Sonsini cuts 113 jobs, freezes associate salaries

Palo Alto-based Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, one of of the largest law firms in Silicon Valley, has announced it is laying off 45 lawyers and 68 staff members. The news comes just a week after Wilson Sonini rival Cooley Godward Kronish cut 52 lawyers and 62 other staff. San Francisco’s Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe had laid off lawyers in November 2008. Wilson Sonsini also announced that it will freeze associate salaries in 2009.
