Two Chicago firms cut back legal and non-legal staff

Katten Muchin Rosenman and Jenner & Block have laid recently off both legal and non-legal staff, including associates and non-equity partners at Katten. Katten also indicated it will cut base salaries for associates who fell far short of billing targets.
