Kirkland & Ellis to launch in Shanghai

Kirkland & Ellis will open a new office in Shanghai to create its second Asia base. The new office will be headed by corporate partner Xiaoyang Li who will relocate to Shanghai from Hong Kong. Corporate partner Chuan Li will also transfer to the new office from Hong Kong. Xiaoyang Li joined Kirkland & Ellis last year from Beijing-based Jun He Law Office. Before that he was a partner at King & Wood, a Chinese law firm with 12 offices in China and four overseas branches.
