Allen & Overy loses corporate star Rolf Koerfer to Oppenhoff

Allen & Overy corporate heavyweight Rolf Koerfer, who had been serving as chairman of German car parts company Continental recently, has left the firm to become a partner of Oppenhoff & Partner. The addition of Koerfer, formerly Shearman's global M&A co-head, is a coup for Oppenhoff, which spun off from Linklaters after the magic circle firm decided to close its Cologne office in November 2007 to focus on Düsseldorf.
