Medvedev sacks 20 prison officials after death of Russian lawyer

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sacked 20 prison officials today in response to an investigation into the death of an imprisoned Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky. Magnitsky, a 37-year-old lawyer representing William Browder’s London-based Hermitage Capital Management, died in November in Moscow's Butyrka jail from what the Interior Ministry says was heart failure. His family and colleagues say the inability of prison authorities to provide Magnitsky with timely medical care led to his death.
