DLA Piper Forms Alliance with Brazilian Firm

DLA Piper has formed an alliance with Brazilian firm Campos Mello Pontes Vinci & Schiller, and is thereby set to establish a presence in Brazil. The Brazilian legal system does not allow international firms to practice local law, so Campos Mello will remain an independent firm working closely with DLA Piper to advise international companies on business in Brazil, as well as domestic companies looking to expand or do business in the country. DLA Piper will set up its own office when the firm receives approval from the Brazilian authorities to practice in Brazil as consultants on foreign law.
