Race for Freshfields new senior partner begins
The joint senior partners at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer - Konstantin Mettenheimer and Guy Morton - have decided not to seek a third term heading the firm, which means that there will be an election campaign for the top job in the autumn. Mettenheimer was elected to the post in 2001, and was re-elected in 2005, when Morton was elected to share the role. While the firm’s governance rules normally preclude any senior partner from standing for a third time, Mettenheimer was offered the chance to waive the rule but opted to take this opportunity to step down.
