Orrick to stop reporting partner profits

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has announced that it will stop reporting the average profit each partner makes as it seeks other ways to measure performance. The San Francisco-based law firm, which employs over 1,100 lawyers in 22 offices, paid its equity partners an average of $1.36 million from a gross-revenue of $847.5 million in 2009. But the firm has now indicated a belief that measuring performance solely on the basis of profit is overly simplistic and unattractive to clients.
