Merger talks between Kilpatrick and Townsend end without agreement

Merger talks between Kilpatrick Stockton and Townsend and Townsend and Crew have ended without agreement, with the firms attributing the failed negotiations to client conflicts. Townsend, the 190-lawyer intellectual property boutique, will continue the search for a suitable merger partner. Spokesperson Brian Colucci said: “Our strategy is to grow our practice and to remain one of the nation’s preeminent IP firms.” He added: “If a merger will help us achieve that goal in the future, we’ll consider it.”
