Dechert boosts financial services practice with Shearman hire

Dechert has boosted its financial services practice group in New York with the hire of M. Holland West, a former head of Shearman & Sterling's derivatives and structured finance practices. West said he was "very bullish on the alternative fund business", and explained that he moved because he "needed to be in a situation where I had the resources available" for clients, asset management companies primarily in the hedge fund sector.
