Davis Polk & Wardwell launches HK domestic practice with double hire

US firm Davis Polk & Wardwell has launched a domestic law practice in Hong Kong with the hire of two new partners. Bonnie YT Chan and Antony Dapiran will head the new practice. Chan joins the firm from a role as the senior vice president of the listing division of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, while Dapiran was previously the managing partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Beijing office. Asian practice managing partner William Barron said: “Many of us at Davis Polk have worked with Bonnie and Antony for many years. We’ve come to greatly admire not only their exceptional skill and knowledge, particularly in complex securities matters, but also the hands-on and collaborative approach that each shares.
