Norton Rose expands with takeovers in Canada and South Africa

Norton Rose has announced an expansion, with the firm set to take over one of South Africa’s largest firms, Deneys Reitz, along with Canadian corporate firm Ogilvy Renault. The two firms will be brought under the Norton Rose masthead from 1 June 2011, taking the firm's head count to over 2,500 lawyers spread over 38 offices. Norton Rose Chief Executive Peter Martyr said: "This is a very exciting move...Canada and South Africa are increasingly influential economies for our clients in the energy and natural resources, infrastructure, technology and financial institutions sectors.”
